It was a bittersweet season finale on Zoey's Extraordinary Playlist Season 1 Episode 12.

As many predicted, Zoey's Extraordinary Playlist Season 1 Episode 11 was simply the calm before the storm.

Zoey woke to the tune of an ominous song and knew something wasn't right.

Everyone seemed to be doing well. Even Mitch was at his best!

But, a sad common misconception is that a sudden burst of energy is a good sign when it typically results in an abrupt ending.

I'm grateful for the realistic timeline of Mitch's disease, and that the writers didn't keep him beyond his time.

It was sad to see him go, and we will certainly miss Peter Gallagher. Maybe if we're lucky, he'll make an appearance in Zoey's dreams or imagination.

Those big musical numbers I've been hearing, this might be totally crazy, but I'm not sure I'm minding them like I used to. I think that they might actually be helpin...

A grey cloud loomed overhead on Zoey's Extraordinary Playlist Season 1 Episode 11, as the family prepared for Mitch's fast-approaching demise.

The episode was a bit slow and laid back, but it seemed fitting for the somber and sad mood of the unfolding events.

Zoey's budding relationship with Simon was put on hold, and rightfully so. It was a family affair, and there was no room for romance.

In life, loss is inevitable. However, we all seem to handle it differently.

Some choose to jump ship early in an attempt to avoid an even greater crash, while others put things off for the future so they can enjoy themselves in the current moment.

Up until this point, Mitch's progress had plateaued, but the rapid decline began, and the family had to start making moves.

Wow mom. I didn't know you were such a pioneer.

Gone are the days of sweetheart songs.

Zoey's Extraordinary Playlist Season 1 Episode 10 was all about the anger and hurt.

As Zoey's father's condition continued to worsen, the best way for her to process was to push it down deeper and release the inner demons she had been harboring with everyone else.

First on her hit list was Simon. After his break up with Jessica, Zoey wasn't sure how to act -- flirty, cool, or casual?

I've said it before, and I'll say it again. Jane Levy is the perfect person to play Zoey.

And the scene when she ate the oatmeal and couldn't decide if she should say hi or swallow proved my point.

Now, can we please stop speaking Zoey?

Everything was back to normal on Zoey's Extraordinary Playlist Season 1 Episode 9.

Zoey no longer danced on tables or serenaded the public space with love ballads.

Right on back to reading other people's souls then.

Although, would it be so bad if Zoey continued her performances? I'm sure most of us would appreciate it.

Instead, she went back into savior mode, this time she reconnected Howie and his daughter Abigail.

Silence is the silent killer that eventually dissolves relationships, and Howie almost had to learn this the hard way.

The deep bond between Zoey and Mitch is enough to make us all cry, and clearly, it had this very effect on Howie.

Howie is the sweetest teddy bear, and it was hard to believe anyon...

    Zoey's Extraordinary Glitch

Oh boy, Zoey had a lot to throw out there on Zoey's Extraordinary Playlist Season 1 Episode 8!

Instead of hearing the depths of everyone else's hearts, she spilled hers.

Following the unfortunate doctor's appointment that revealed Mitch was in his final phase of the disease, a grim and somber mood loomed overhead.

So Zoey did what Zoey does best; she ran away from her deepest and hardest emotions.

And unfortunately for her, ignoring Maggie's calls only pushed every inner thought and secret she had been harboring to display itself through extravagant songs, all served with a side of personalized choreography.

Thankfully for us, we were pushed a few steps closer to figuring out this insatiable love triangle between Zoey, Simon, and Max.

Calling all team Maxxers! We received some very mixed news.

Apparently, Max was only sitting on the backburner to stay warm and has now been brought to the front b...

    Zoey's Extraordinary Confession

Zoey had some hard truths to come to terms with on Zoey's Extraordinary Playlist Season 1 Episode 7.

We were last left in the dark with Zoey's feelings toward Max.

I guess we shouldn't have been too surprised to find out she had friend-zoned him long ago.

As a huge Max and Zoey shipper, I was extremely bummed by her response to his incredible gesture.

Though, to be fair, he should have known Zoey is not a big gesture gal.

The writers cleverly embedded Max's rehearsed flash mob in the food court taking us all by surprise when Zoey realized it was real life and not an inner song-alogue.

Originally, I questioned if this was a new advancement in her skill set or at least a glitch. But, no.

Poor Max went all out and organized an entire song and dance for Zoey to confess his feelings, and it was not well-received.

Zoey ran away and ghosted him until he confronted her at work.

    Zoey's Extraordinary Night Out

So much happened on Zoey's Extraordinary Playlist Season 1 Episode 6! We picked up exactly where we left off after Zoey's Extraordinary Playlist Season 1 Episode 5, and I'm extremely proud to announce my previous prediction was correct.

Zoey and Simon were sensible enough not to kiss, but things were still left extremely awkward between the two. Reasonably so!

I mean, Simon literally celebrated his engagement party the next evening.

Many movies and TV shows have taught us this lesson time and again -- don't fall for someone who is unavailable.

Just don't; it will never end well.

Even if you think the person is going to dump their significant other to be with you, that cfreates a complicated beginning, and someone is bound to get hurt.

Like if there were awards for break-ups, "The Breakies," I'd at least get a nomination.

    Zoey's Extraordinary Failure

With a few too many storylines focused on and too many men in need, Zoey's attention was split on Zoey's Extraordinary Playlist Season 1 Episode 5, and it made for a scattered and slightly dull episode.

Emily and David performed a duet of Pink's Just Give Me A Reason, and in Zoey's words, they seemed tortured.

Since the news of the baby, their relationship has been on the rocks.

David had been lying to Emily about staying late at work to finish a case when in reality he had been spending time with his coworkers at a bar.

After Zoey confronted him about his lie he explained his pre-baby jitters.

I understand the pre-baby jitters, but his reasoning was flat-out fragile masculinity.

Fragile masculinity seemed to be a hurdle many of the men faced.

Joan and Zoey held meetings with each team member where they read the anonymous feedback provided for each person.

    Oh t...

Whether or not Zoey believes in miracles, she certainly made a few happen on Zoey's Extraordinary Playlist Season 1 Episode 4.

We're finally, at the request of many, given a more personal look into Mo's life.

Zoey worked an impressive trifecta this hour, switching between three people in need: Mo, Bonnie, and Joan.

Mo's been the personality of the show with their witty remarks and larger-than-life personality, and they finally gave their first inner song performance of The Great Pretender.

    Zoey's Extraordinary Boss

It was all about girl power on Zoey's Extraordinary Playlist Season 1 Episode 3.

Joan and Maggie struggled with marriage trouble, and Zoey stepped out of her comfort zone to aid them both.

As Zoey put it, her many years of relationship experience, sarcasm heavily included, made her a qualified couples therapist.

Joan performed Satisfaction by The Rolling Stones, and initially, Zoey assumed it was in response to the team's performance when in actuality it was in retaliation of her broken marriage to her terribly narcissistic husband Charlie.

Already a show focused on female empowerment, it resumed this message successfully and with immense poise. Lorelei Gilmore would never have let a man take over her life.

Joan just needed a bit of a reminder and clear lenses to see that her husband's flawed behavior was unacceptable and deserved a proper send-off.

It's a girl power thing. I scream out whe...
