Stradivarius

And just like that, the wind has been effectively taken out of The Walking Dead's sails. That's not to say that The Walking Dead Season 9 Episode 7 was a bad installment, but given the quality this season has churned out, I expected much better. "Stradavarius" just wasn't what you would have expected going into the midseason finale. And as a result, it often felt sluggish and unfocused. Simply put, it just didn't feel up to par with the rest of the season. The ... more

Who Are You Now?

The Whisperers have arrived! The Walking Dead Season 9 Episode 6 acted not only as an introduction to a new timeline, fresh characters, and new antagonist, but it also gave us a glimpse into how the series plans to push forward without Rick. And if "Who Are You Now?" is any indication of what's to come for the remainder of the season and beyond, we're going to be in a for one hell of a ride. While there were numerous surprises and developments, what was perhaps... more

What Comes After

Rick Grimes went out in a huge climactic blaze of glory... sort of. The episode we've all been eagerly -- and dreadfully -- anticipating finally arrived. On The Walking Dead Season 9 Episode 5, fan favorite and series original, Rick Grimes, made his last appearance. And while the episode itself acted as a beautiful send-off that was loaded with fan service and nostalgia, the result turned out to be a bit disappointing. The Walking Dead has always been notoriou... more

'The Walking Dead' Review: Characters Continue To Grate In 'Stradivarius'

This Week On “The Walking Dead” So much of the first half of Season 9 of “The Walking Dead” has been focused on writing out Rick Grimes, leaving precious few episodes left to establish the new time-jump status quo as well as build to a satisfying cliffhanger for the mid-season break. Instead of maximizing that time, “The Walking Dead” has shifted back to auto-pilot, meandering around with very little drive until the November finale. The creative surge the show displayed ... more

Ratings: Walking Dead Ticks (Slightly) Up With Andrew Lincoln's 'Farewell'

Andrew Lincoln’s Walking Dead sorta-sendoff moved the ratings needle for AMC, albeit minimally. Sunday’s episode drew 5.4 million viewers and a 2.1 demo rating — up just 6 percent vs. the previous week (2.0 mil, 2.0 demo). After show Talking Dead, featuring an exclusive interview with Lincoln, enjoyed a more sizable uptick. The Chris Hardwick talker attracted nearly doubled its demo rating week-over-week, nothing a 1.0 vs. last Sunday’s 0.6 (a 66 percen... more

The Walking Dead Season 9 Premiere Recap: Friends, Foes and the Fine Line Between 'Em — Plus, [Spoiler] Dies

‘I DON’T LIKE SPIDERS’ | As the episode began, we were treated to glimpses of not only how much Alexandria had been rebuilt in the 18-month time jump that followed the Season 8 finale but also the happy home life that Rick and Michonne had established with Judith. (Adorably, the moppet insisted on painting her dad with a grumpy face and big tummy in her extended-family portrait.) Before most of our regulars convened for the aforementioned field trip to D.C., we also got a peek at the goings-o... more

I don´t like the ending of the last episode. Were there no indications whatsoever that the scrap heap people and the freaky lanky bitch leading them were allied to Negan? Normally such information can be found out. It would be foolish to trust strangers and wise to have spied on them before the joining of forces and the battle. Also once the battle was underway and the alexandrians and Kingdom people had forced the enemy to flee it was very stupid and a major military blunder to have just let them run. The script writers obviously have no military experience or knowledge. You do not allow an enemy fleeing the battlefield in panic and disarray to escape. They had the advantage and the momentum and they should have mounted their vehicles and pursued and killed all of them while they had a chance. The fleeing enemy must not be allowed to stop and re-group. Most of the enemy were on foot and Negan only had a few minutes head start and could have been caught up with and killed.

I think I should be called in to write the script of this show. Zombies or no Zombies, Gouverners and Negans and Saviours or not, it is just so pathetic that they are so defenceless. Even if a huge number of the population has died or been turned into Zombies, there would still be plenty of food supplies and weapons and ammunition and fuel left somewhere which they could forage for. There are 27 military bases in Virginia alone (one of which is a major ammunition dump) swarms of police stations and gun shops. They cannot all have been looted and gutted clean. There must be plenty of fuel to be found. There were tanks and heavy armour in the streets of Atlanta and at the centre for disease control. There is a National Guard garrison in Virginia and heavy armour and underground bunkers in Arlington. It is not difficult to learn to drive a tank or to go to an air force base and find a helicopter or even ultra light aircraft which they could drop hand grenades from right on bloody Ne
