Sixteen or more castaways are split between two or more "Tribes", are taken to a remote isolated location and are forced to live off the land with meager supplies for roughly 39 days. Frequent physical challenges are used to pit the tribes against each other for Rewards, such as food or luxuries, or for "Immunity", forcing the other tribe to attend "Tribal Council", where they more
...must vote off one of their players. Once about half the players are remaining, the tribes are merged into a single tribe, and competitions are on an individual basis; winning Immunity prevents that player from being voted out, while several that are voted out at this stage form the game's "Jury". Once down to two or three people, a Final Tribal Council is held where the remaining players plead their case to the jury members. The jury then votes for which player should be considered the "Sole Survivor" and win the $1 million prize. Survivor has introduced numerous modifications, or "twists", on the core rules in order to keep the players on their toes and to prevent players from relying on strategies that succeeded in prior seasons. These changes have included tribal switches, seasons starting with more than two tribes, the ability to exile a player from a tribe for a short time, Hidden Immunity Idols that players can use to save themselves at Tribal Council and a chance to return to regular gameplay after elimination through "Redemption Island".

Sometimes, the stress of the day gets in the way of your job. Things you love to do seem impossible. It's been one of those weeks for me. I've struggled to write a review for a show that I enjoyed greatly, and that's a problem. But reflecting a little bit reminded me why reviewing AWAY is so important: it's all about hope. The Boys Season 2 Goes Darker For Gloriously Gory Sophomore Outing

As Superheroes return to the television landscape, especially broadcast shows and films celebrating their heroism, only one show makes sense with the 2020 political landscape. The Boys is that show because it doubles down on the premise that absolute power corrupts absolutely, making a mockery of the Spiderman adage that with great power comes great responsibility. If you thought The Boys Season 1 was batshit crazy and enjoyed the ride, then you're in for a tremendous time with... more

Fall TV Upfronts: CW, Fox and ABC Join CBS and NBC in Scrapping Live Events

Fox, ABC and The CW — like CBS and NBC — have decided to scrap their annual live Fall TV Upfront presentations, due to concerns about the coronavirus outbreak. On Monday, May 11, Fox will “host a digital presentation for the advertising community to preview the latest programming and schedule,” instead of trotting out stars and numbers wonks at the Beacon Theatre. On Thursday, May 14, The CW will forgo a star-studded affair at the New York City Center to instead pursue “an alternative plan to communicate its strat... more
