Picard Season 1 Episode 4 Review

It occured to me while watching Star Trek: Picard Season 1 Episode 4 that, even in the future, roadtrips can be super frustrating. Picard's crew has settled into archetypal roles pretty quickly with Dr. Jurati nervously nattering on aimlessly, Rios trying to find a quiet place to read, and Raffi raging at every change in the itinerary. So what's misisng on this crew? Some muscle with no tact. Yup, gotta have that. Once again, we get a glimpse of what life was... more

Picard Season 1 Episode 3 Review

Despite the completely disparate storylines, separated by both location and apparent motivations, Star Trek: Picard Season 1 Episode 3 does a pretty good job with shaping a cohesive plot, clearly leading towards the reveal of a deeply disturbing truth. What that truth actually is currently being debated at length on the Trekker forums. And, without a doubt, the entire Soji-triggers-Ramdha scene is going to provide rocket fuel for the fire. However, the most importa... more

Picard Season 1 Episode 2 Review

Jean-Luc Picard may be the hero of this story (and in our hearts) but Star Trek: Picard Season 1 Episode 2 makes it clear that he isn't on great terms with everyone. Add into the mix a mysterious health diagnosis and a shadowy cabal of anti-synth Romulan undercover agents, and we've got a rattlin' good adventure off to a stellar start. The layers upon layers of mysteries to solve piled on so far is truly impressive. At the heart of it all is the synth attack ... more

'Star Trek: Picard' Review: Episode 4 Proves Resistance to This Series Was Always Futile

Stand down from red alert! “Star Trek: Picard” seems to have course corrected from its lackluster first three episodes in the engaging adventure that is “Absolute Candor.” At last, this show is no longer just a talky chamber drama with characters doing little more than speaking to each other while sitting in chairs of various comfort levels. Intriguingly, each of the previous three episodes had multiple credited writers, while this one only had one: showrunner Michael... more

'Star Trek: Picard' Review: Episode 3, After a Sluggish Start, Is Finally 'The End of the Beginning'

We are earthbound no more! Well, by the end this third episode of “Star Trek: Picard,” anyway. But throughout much of it, especially once Santiago Cabrera’s compelling new character, Rios, was introduced, it felt like this show was finally about to achieve warp velocity. And at the end, when Jean-Luc uttered his immortal catchphrase “Engage,” it felt like “Picard” had done just that. There were still a few bumps in the road getting there, though. &ld... more

So far the story is rubbish and the costume and scenery including the mars base is out of sync and looks pre 22nd century. Am sure they will wear builders hard hats four thousand years into the future! lol
