Eccentric genius, Walter O'Brien and his team of brilliant misfits comprise the last line of defense against complex, high-tech threats of the modern age. As Homeland Security's new think tank, O'Brien's 'Scorpion' team includes Toby Curtis, an expert behaviorist who can read anyone; Happy Quinn, a mechanical prodigy; and Sylvester Dodd, a statistics guru. Pooling their extensi more

However, while this socially awkward group is comfortable with each other's humor and quirks, life outside their circle confounds them, so they rely on Paige Dineen, who has a young, gifted son, to translate the world for them, while also helping each other learn how to fit in.

    A Lie in the Sand

To say that Walter's lie blew up in his face would be a gigantic understatement.

On Scorpion Season 4 Episode 22, Walter continued to manage to downplay his mistake and the severity of his lie despite Toby and Happy continually telling him how much worse he was making things.

Hopefully, he's learned his lesson now.

He was excited that he got away with it when Paige was happy that he went to the lecture alone and told a white lie. Walter seemed to enjoy the fact that he got off scot-free.

He told Happy that he wasn't happy about the situation, but it never really came across that way. Happy and Toby were more outraged by it than Walter was, and that's the problem.

Paige is definitely the MVP of this case.

On Scorpion Season 4 Episode 21, Paige really stepped up to the plate, and not in her normal, "translate the world" kind of way. She was brave and did something next to impossible to save a kid's life.

It was so great for her to get a chance to shine, especially when Walter was miles away.

What makes Paige great has nothing to do with Walter, so in a rocky time in their relationship (unbeknownst to Paige), it was refreshing to see Paige stand on her own and get things done without Walter jumping in the way.

We all know how Walter is. If there's a dangerous situation, he will throw himself into it, so no one else on the team has to take that risk.

    Foul Balls

    Let's play ball!

On Scorpion Season 4 Episode 20, something absolutely shocking happens: Team Scorpion played a game of baseball. What's even more surprising is that they win.

Okay, yeah there was no way they were going to lose and therefore lose their government clearance, so all along we knew that something had to happen to make them win the game.

If Team Scorpion didn't have clearance, then the next case they got would have probably been super boring. Plus, Cabe wouldn't be working with them so losing was not a possible outcome.

It's still shocking to see this extremely ragtag team pull it off. To say they had a rough start is an understatement.

The ballgame is a lot of fun. There's not really any thrill nor suspense to it; it's just amusing entertainment. Our geniuses were fishes out of water, and Paige could only help them so much.

While there's not that much focus on how Patty and Bifro...

Poor Toby, betrayed by his beads. That is why you should stick to festive hats.

On Scorpion Season 4 Episode 19, Team Scorpion headed down to the bayou, and of course, they would run into a problem involving a gator.

I mean it would have been a missed opportunity if they didn't. This is Scorpion we're talking about here!

Can we discuss the poor life decisions first?

First off, Toby should have never been allowed behind the wheel (so to speak) of that boat. Cabe would have done a much better job. You know what else Cabe would have been good at doing? Firing the tranq gun!

Stupid, stupid decisions. Did these bother anyone else? I mean for a bunch of geniuses, they aren't always the brightest.

However, Walter with that trank gun led to some of the funniest moments in a while. Between the initial shock of Cabe getting shot in the ass and then watching Toby deal with drugged Cabe, the who...

I don't know about you, but I'm definitely sticking to ATMs from now on.

On Scorpion Season 4 Episode 18, Walter managed to screw things up, yet again. You couldn't have gotten money out after dropping Toby and his sperm off at the clinic? Seriously buddy, what was the rush?

The best part about this case is that it's really about delivering Toby's sperm to the clinic. The bank robbery was just a bump in the road. Every Team Scorpion case hits at least one bump, usually five if we're being honest.

All the investigative work regarding the robbery happens fairly quickly. Toby figured out that it was happening within maybe a minute, and then it wasn't hard to uncover the non-important motive.

There's no heavy lifting done here because the bank robbery wasn't the focus, getting Happy pregnant was.

It's tough babysitting a bunch of non-geniuses, especially when they're about to get themselves blown up.

On Scorpion Season 4 Episode 17, Cabe and Paige were the brains of the operation, which made for a nice change of pace. We're used to the geniuses saying something smart that solves a problem or explains the severity of a situation, so it's fun seeing the roles reversed.

It helps make the case a lot more entertaining. Well, that along with the constant jokes about Toby's IQ and the prairie dog. I'm a little sad they didn't bring him back to the lab. Ferret Bueller could use a friend!

It's also a lot of fun watching the banter and slight bickering between the geniuses. Toby vs. Sly on the plastic front is pure fun. We don't usually get to see them bicker like this, which is a shame.

Scorpion is a family, and we all know that families like to poke fun at each other. It's why we love them, most of the time, so it's nice seeing th...

Did anyone else have the Santa Ana winds song from Crazy Ex-Girlfriend in their head all during this episode?

On Scorpion Season 4 Episode 16, Valentine's Day was rough for everyone, but at least for everyone except Ralph, you wanted things to work out for the beary best. (sorry, I couldn't help myself.)

Seriously, what was with Ralph's attitude problem? It wasn't fun to watch. It made you want to punch him. Okay, maybe not punch him since he's a tiny child, but you get my point.

Between saying that Walter already "had" Paige to what he was doing to that poor kid Jesse, Ralph was a jerk.

Yeah, it was entertaining to see everyone comment on the wrong math lessons he was giving and to try to steer him in the direction of not being a jerk, but Ralph never redeemed himself.

He somehow started to feel bad about everything, but there weren't any consequences to his actions. Patty never found out about his scheme, and...

A query, my dearies, which Team Scorpion ship is the best?

On Scorpion Season 4 Episode 15, Quintis and Waige were at war for the prime real estate in the garage, but Amy and Toby came out of nowhere with the surprise kiss!

It was nice to see Amy again, especially since she didn't waltz in and have Toby instantly around her finger like some sort of Toby whisperer like she did on Scorpion Season 4 Episode 13.

Toby's willingness to help Amy out was nicely explained. He felt as if he owed her for ruining her life back when they were together.

Honestly, I think he did owe it to her. He gambled away her money.

We learned a bit of Toby and Amy history, but it was still difficult to get a sense of who Amy is as a person. We've only seen her in connection with the men in her life.

We keep hearing about her intellect and accomplishments, but those never get a chance to shine. Yes, she thinks she's snakebitten, which a...

The pirate hat returned to us in all its glory!

On Scorpion Season 4 Episode 14, a good bit of Team Scorpion had romantic plans for the weekend, and they got ruined almost immediately. Romance isn't an easy path, that's for sure.

Now, did I ever expect to see the pirate hat appear in a weird, sexual role play scenario? No, no I did not. It's strange that this somehow isn't really weird for Quintis.

It's nice to see Quintis and Cabe and Allie (Callie?) take on a more prominent focus. We were given a brief respite from the Waige drama, and the other couples were allowed to shine.

After Scorpion Season 4 Episode 13, the expectation was that the fallout from the Florence dream kiss would be front and center. Instead, Paige was stewing about it on the sidelines.

It was still addressed, but it did not dominate the episode, which was a relief. We watch Scorpion for the humor, not the angst.

    The Bunker Games

You'd think that Toby reuniting with his former fiancée, Amy, would have been a bit more entertaining.

On Scorpion Season 4 Episode 13, Toby and Happy came face to face with Quincy, Amy, and photos of their honeymoon, in romantic slideshow format no less. Then, they get trapped in a bunker together. It was the perfect storm for hilarity, and yet none ensued.

Seriously, as far as cases go, this one wasn't the most entertaining. Being trapped together didn't yield any laughter, and the focus seemed to be on romantic drama rather than entertaining drama.

Toby didn't seemed phased by Amy's presence at all. He focused more on Quincy, and Happy focused more on Amy. Sure, Amy and Happy becoming friends was nice, but it's the only small upside to this.

Part of the problem is that we don't really get a sense of Amy.

She waltzed in without really introducing herself to anyone nor saying "long time no see" to maybe Walte...
