Emily Thorne rents a house in the Hamptons for the summer, seemingly intent on nothing more than enjoying a break in the popular resort. But it soon becomes clear that there's more to her visit. Her real name is Amanda Clarke and her father was framed for a crime he didn't commit and sent to prison for life and she has come to the Hamptons to seek revenge against the people who more
... betrayed him and saw him sent to jail.

    Long Live Amanda Clarke

Amanda Clarke made her big debut on Revenge Season 4 Episode 19 with a tear-filled interview detailing the past 20 years of her life and time spent as Emily Thorne.

There might have been some tears for the rest of us as we watched an episode made up almost entirely of flashbacks. Whether those were tears of boredom or fond memories remains to be seen.

Here's a fun fact as we discuss this week's Revenge. Tonight's episode, "Exposure," was originally intended to air as the penultimate episode of the season and next week's episode was originally slated to run tonight. The NEW second-to-last episode was supposed to be next week's installment.

Basically, what this tells me is that the writers have no idea what it is they're doing with this series and its firm placement on the TV bubble. Is it returning? Did Revenge get canceled? We still don't know. And they have no idea how to craft an ending which can go either way as they await an announce...

    Let It Burn

Knowing how things on this series have always played out, I'm reluctant to get excited about the end of Revenge Season 4 Episode 20.

Yes, the demise of Victoria Grayson is worth celebrating. She's been a thorn in ALL of our sides since killing Aidan Mathis and forcing a Jack-Emily ending upon us.

And the end, as in The End, is definitely what it looks like for Revenge right now.

With no official word out on the fate of Revenge (still, I know) it's hard not to watch these few remaining episodes without getting the sense that things are definitely being written with a series finale in mind.

That finale, be it for the season or forever, definitely seems to point toward Jemily. (Should we be calling them Jamanda now? Amanack? In the words of Amanda/Emily "this is going to be complicated.")

Tonight's episode might as well have bee...

    Aftermath

Did Queen V really just win this Revenge War?

That's certainly what the end of Revenge Season 4 Episode 21 looked like.

She set a plan in place that Emanda never, ever saw coming and did it so masterfully that even I can't tell if Victoria is really dead or alive on an island somewhere sipping the pina coladas that Nolan won't get to share with Tony.

Before we dive into whether or not Victoria Grayson is dead or alive, can we just have a moment of silence for Nolan Ross' love life?

This guy is the most unlucky in love man ever to exist on a night time soap. He might get lucky a lot but that love runs out QUICK.

From the moment Nolan came sauntering down the hall, carried forth by the smell of a home-cooked breakfast, completely relaxed and happy, I found myself thinking "Oh no. This cannot be good. Nolan's heart i...

    Plea

Look, y'all. The record is doing all kinds of reflecting right now, okay? I said it last week and tonight Revenge Season 4 Episode 22 confirmed my suspicions (and then some):

    Victoria Grayson is ALIVE.

Just how well she is remains to be seen, but Queen V is certainly breathing. And Margaux has known all about it this entire time.

I knew there was no way Victoria was dead in part because of the way Scandal treated Jake Ballard's "death" what with actor Scott Foley sending out cryptic tweets which could be interpreted in myriad ways.

Madeleine Stowe's interviews this week were no different. In them the actress stated that Victoria Grayson is very much dead. The loophole? Victoria Grayson switched lives with Mary Gaines. She'll no longer be known as Victoria Grayson, but that which we called a rose by any other name would still smell as...well, deadly, amiright?

So she's "dead" but not dead-dead.

  • Series Finale Who Lives and Who Dies?

Series Finale Who Lives and Who Dies? Before you embark on a journey of revenge, dig two graves." The Revenge series finale lives up to that quote from Confucius, as by the end of it, two more people are dead.

Just like it always had to happen in the series finale, Amanda and Victoria do face off in "Two Graves," and two people do pull the trigger. Plus, the final scene answers the question, "Is there life after revenge for Nolan Ross?" And a couple sails off to a happily ever after.

    Pleading Guilty

As the series finale must do, it begins with a flashback to young Amanda and David on their porch. When Amanda asks why there are bad people, he tells her that he doesn't think people are born bad, but that their choices make them who they are. People convince themselves that doing something bad is okay. That will never happen to her, he promises, because he'll be there to bring her back.

In the present, recalling those words from her father, Amanda pleads guilty to th...

  • Who Helped Victoria Frame Amanda?

Who Helped Victoria Frame Amanda? Victoria framed Amanda for her murder and claimed she did what Amanda never had the guts to do -- but did she? Is Victoria alive? That's what everyone wants to know -- or at least everyone who wants to know the truth and not just believe that Amanda's a killer -- in this episode of Revenge, "Plea."
Honestly, going into this episode, I was more excited for the Everwood reunion (Tom Amandes, who played Emily VanCamp's father, guest stars as Amanda's lawyer) since I knew it was going to be about everyone else putting together what the audience already knows: Amanda did not kill Victoria, and Victoria set up the entire thing, with Mason's help. Ben, who has somehow stuck around all this time (I honestly thought he'd be gone after a couple of episodes), continues to be the absolute worst, only making baby steps towards redemption after evidence is practically forced upon him to the point that he has no choice but to investigate and discover the truth, a truth that leads t...

  • Death Doesn't Stop Victoria from Trying to Bring Down Amanda

Death Doesn't Stop Victoria from Trying to Bring Down Amanda Grayson Manor and Victoria Grayson are no more, but that doesn't mean the war is over. In fact, it's far from being over, as Victoria reveals the details of her last plan to destroy Amanda in the final moments before the police burst in to the Clarke house, in this episode of Revenge, "Aftermath."
Elsewhere, Nolan's happily looking forward to a future with Tony -- including vacation planning -- only for good news to ruin that, Jack briefly enjoys life in LA before coming home to face some questions from the police, and Louise and Margaux continue to behave in a way that makes me want to send them to the Maldives, along with Mason Treadwell.

    Pina Coladas and Margaritas
Nolan wakes up to find that Tony has cooked him breakfast, but his plans for the day with his new man are ruined when Tony has to go to work. Still, they're cute, and that adorableness continues when Nolan decides to take a much-deserved vacation and invite him along. He's falling for T...

  • Amanda's Love Life Crashes and Victoria Makes a Fiery Move

Amanda's Love Life Crashes and Victoria Makes a Fiery Move How can this not be the last season of Revenge after "Burn"? Between the "final four episodes" in the promos and the final scene of this episode, it's hard to even imagine the ABC drama having another season.
Victoria makes what I would argue is the biggest move yet to "end this," as she puts it, while the two women who stand steadfast by her side, despite their dislike of one another, try to put the past behind them. Meanwhile, Nolan worries that Louise's crazy behavior may ruin his latest attempt at a relationship, and he and Amanda take steps to fix the damage done to their friendship. Plus, Jack makes a decision about what to do next about his life. Finally, David has some heartbreaking news he needs to tell his daughter, but will he?
Nolan and Amanda Work on Their Friendship
Despite the rough patch -- and it's quite the rough patch -- Nolan and Amanda (or, at the very least, Ems, to him) have been going through lately, they do talk about what h...

  • Amanda Lets the World In

Amanda Lets the World In Well, the world now knows Emily Thorne is really Amanda Clarke, but that's just the beginning. (Is it the beginning of the end for the series? Maybe. All the flashbacks in "Exposure" certainly make it feel like it could be Revenge's last season.) While Victoria gathers evidence of Amanda's actions as Emily, thanks to Louise changing sides, Amanda has to do some damage control of her own, and that means giving an interview about what she's done.
If you somehow missed an episode or two (or five or 10) at any point, it's very likely that all the flashbacks and "Exposure" itself caught you up within the span of a few scenes. There are flashbacks to Amanda's childhood, with David and Jack and Sammy, flashbacks to "Emily" first coming to the Hamptons, to her and Nolan teaming up, to Emily putting Victoria in the mental institution, to Aiden's murder, to everything. In the aftermath of Emily telling the world the truth, the world wants answers, and with Victoria more than happy to...

  • How Far Does Emily Go to Clear Daniel's Name?

How Far Does Emily Go to Clear Daniel's Name? What the hell, Ems?" That's Nolan's reaction to Emily's big announcement at the end of "Clarity," and it's exactly what everyone is probably thinking as well as they watch her take the podium and clear Daniel's name on Revenge.
While Emily is finally honest with the world, Nolan needs to take a page out of her book and be honest in his personal life, especially with Victoria planting seeds of doubt in Louise's head. Plus, Ben's brother comes to town and plants some seeds in his head about Emily and Jack, Margaux has to stop a move she didn't really mean, and Stevie and David try to figure out the best way to be parents.

What are Victoria and Margaux's Next Moves?
Margaux seems to be regretting her latest moves, including telling Victoria that Emily pushed her, but while she may consider for a split second telling her the truth, she doesn't. What she does do, however, is make sure that she puts a stop to the assassin she hired to go after Emily. Marga...
