Abby O'Brien Winters returns from New York to her hometown of Chesapeake Shores, Maryland, after receiving a panicked phone call from her youngest sister Jess, who is renovating the Inn at Eagle Point. Abby's demanding career, divorce, and young daughters have kept her too busy to even think about the town her father built. Saving her sister's inn from foreclosure means dealing more
... not only with her fractured family but also with Trace Riley, her first love whom she abruptly left sixteen years ago. He initially is an obstacle but becomes an unexpected ally and a second chance at finding love. The troubled family dynamic is intensified when Abby's estranged mother comes back to town.

Before the season is over, it seems like everyone on Chesapeake Shores will find a way to express their content.

Chesapeake Shores Season 4 Episode 5 saw Abby considering big changes after growing closer to Jay, while Bree and Kevin found it almost hard to believe they had no stress digging away at them.

And while the whole family grappled with the thought of Mick and Megan reuniting, there wasn't a lot about their pairing to celebrate.

As much as I love reviewing Chesapeake Shores, it's sad that I never get to converse with any of you about it. Hallmark fans are extremely silent on articles like these.

That's too bad because I'd really like to know your thoughts on Abby and Trace.

If only Trace and Abby had decided to move foward, Chesapeake Shores Season 4 Episode 4 could have been titled "Righting the Ship."

It sure seemed like everyone was going to great lengths to position themselves better for the future, and in doing so, relationships were steadied or ended.

It doesn't hurt that there was an actual ship that served three generations of O'Briens, either.

Chesapeake Shores Season 4 is going to great lengths to provide a relationship experience for just about everyone.

There is just about every kind of connection at play from solid couples getting through everyday turmoil to a divorced couple reuniting, and the issues are all over the map with family and history sharing the stage.

Connor and Bree have faced some very similar obstacles in their most recent relationships.

    Let's talk about love!

Chesapeake Shores Season 4 Episode 3 pushed aside most of the business woes that were on tap for Chesapeake Shores Season 4 Episode 2.

Unfortunately, all the couples didn't make it out of the hour intact, but this review will try to help mend broken hearts.

Before we get to the romantic notions afoot on "A Sonnet for Caroline," let's get business out of the way.

While it wasn't the focal point, business was still on the minds of many, including Mick and Abby.

Mick: See? The apple doesn't fall far from the tree. Now you're channeling me.
Abby: Oh, dad, I've been happily channeling you my whole life.

Abby is going to need a lot of support after blowing the whistle.

    What's life without challenges?

If you're answer is "not much" or something similar, then maybe you're excited for all of the trying times ahead for the characters on Chesapeake Shores.

Internal strife was at the ready on Chesapeake Shores Season 4 Episode 2, that's for sure.

Overall, it was a great episode because every character got equal attention. Sometime's time is not as carefully weight, but everyone got a very fair shake on "Leap of Faith."

Chesapeake Shores Review: The End Is Where We Begin

It's never good when family and friends are more concerned about your upcoming nuptials than you are.

Not that Sarah isn't excited; she's very happily engaged to Kevin. What she isn't so convinced about is the fancy affair the family who loves events and pretty things wants to plan on her behalf.

Bree: Now that is stupidly beautiful.<...

It's all hands on deck on Chesapeake Shores Season 3 Episode 10 as the family tries to team up for the annual Regatta race despite the tension between the entire O'Brien clan!

Abby is doing her best to bring at least some of the O'Brien clan back together. I get where she's coming from and totally understand what she's trying to do. Siblings need to stick together no matter what!

Abby: Bree, it's not that bad.
Bree: Really? Um, a fictional novel broke our family, and now a fictional character is about to break the rest of my life.
Jess: Caroline is planning on ruining your life?
Bree: She might, yeah. I mean, based on how last night went.
Jess: Well, she might be too late.
    Bree: Oh, thanks.

Tensions are higher than ever within the O'Brien clan, and things may never be the same on Chesapeake Shores Season 3 Episode 9. The family needs to deal with the issue that Bree's book has become as Trace and Mick go head to head.

I completely understand Kevin being slightly nervous about meeting Sarah's family. That's a tense situation to begin with, but when her dad was a Navy SEAL? Yikes. But Sarah seemed way more nervous, and I can't help but wonder why.

Kevin: You look nervous. You worried your parents aren't gonna like me?
Sarah: Nope. No. I'm nervous you're not gonna like my family. My dad can be pretty intimidating.
Kevin: I'm sure I will survive.
Sarah: He used to be a Navy SEAL.
Kevin: I'm pretty sure I will survive.

Jess is facing challenge after challenge with the B&B on Chesapeake Shores Season 3 Episode 8. But she isn't the only one facing extreme challenges as Trace and Mick discuss options for The Bridge.

Things with the B&B have always seemed to be a struggle for Jess, but things are at their worst as the possibility of termites infesting the house is brought to her attention. I'm not one to tell others to give up, but maybe it's time to let it go.

Jess: Dad I can't lose the inn. I just can't
Mick: It's gonna be okay, sweetheart.
Jess: Dad, I don't think it will this time. Dad, this was me. This was my chance at being the better Jess. This was my chance at being successful, like everyone else in this family. Now, this is me. Messing up again.
Mick: You're not messing up, sweetie-pie. You're not messing up. It's gonna be okay. You're gonna be fine.

Abby is on a mission to prove Wes' new girlfriend can't replace her on Chesapeake Shores Season 3 Episode 7.

It looks like the girls are going to get a new stepmom, and Abby is not a fan.

Trace: So how long can you keep doing this?
    Abby: Doing what?
Trace: Making homemade ice cream, going to pottery classes, and planning all-day scavenger hunts before you go to work at night?
Abby: I'm just trying to spend quality time with my daughters.

Things seemed to revolve around timing and tension from beginning to end on Chesapeake Shores Season 3 Episode 5. Sarah was saved from a roof caving in on her in the nick of time. Abby missed Trace's call by seconds. Jess spent all her time waiting for David. Bree was being rushed through the editing process of her book.

There was tension between Kevin and Sarah after her accident at work. There was tension of a different kind between Bree and Simon as well as Mick and Megan. There was also some serious tension between Trace and both Abby and Leigh.

Watching Kevin worry about Sarah was pure torture, but it was worth it to see the look of utter relief when he saw her alive and well. At least mostly well, save for a few bumps and bruises.

Sarah was acting as if everything was normal even though it was clea...
