Big Brother, which began in 2000, has become an annual tradition for fans; every summer they are treated to new houseguests, new challenges, and new evictions! Here's how the game works: each week, there is a Head of Household challenge, where all of the players compete for the power in the house. The HoH then nominates two other houseguests for eviction. Several days later, a more
...Power of Veto competition is held, where six players (the HoH, the nominees, and three guests) attempt to win the Golden Power of Veto, which gives the bearer the power to "veto," or cancel, one of the HoH's nominations, forcing the HoH to nominate someone else (other than the Veto bearer) for eviction. Then, in the weekly live eviction, the houseguests vote to send someone out of the house for good. Along the way are Luxury competitions and Food contests (which, if the houseguests do not win, results in Slop for the week), all leading up to the show's finale, where a panel of sequestered jurors vote for a winner, who receives half a million dollars!

Over the years, we've come to accept certain things from a new cast. The overwhelming majority of them will probably be attractive men and women in their 20s ready to hop into a showmance as soon as possible. But what are so... more Comments

5 Lessons CBS Should Learned from 'Big Brother 19'

Big Brother 19 is over and, like every year, there were good parts and bad parts. Unfortunately, this year the bad parts may have won out with a season that got bitter and ugly, with accusations of bullying infecting it to the end. Now that it's in the rearview mirror, we can look forward to Big Brother 20 next summer (but first, Celebrity Big Brother in the Winter). So what lessons should the show take away from Big Brother 19 in terms of what t... more Comments

Why Josh Winning 'Big Brother 19' Is a Huge Milestone

On the finale of Big Brother 19, Josh Martinez surprised everyone by winning the game. The 23-year-old meatball defeated returning player Paul Abrahamian by a 5-4 vote, the same result that Paul suffered last season against Nicole Franzel. And while the night may not have made a big deal about this, there's one particular aspect of Josh as a winner that is a huge milestone for Big Brother. He's Hispanic. There's definitely a debate over whether Josh played ... more Comments

How Paul Played 'Big Brother 19' Like Donald Trump

There's no denying that Paul dominated the game on Big Brother 19. From the moment he walked into the house he took control and never let go. But as he progressed, I started to think that his strategy seemed somewhat similar to something I saw play out last year: Donald Trump in the 2016 presidential campaign. Whether you like it or not, you can't argue that Trump's campaign was effective in achieving his goal of becoming the President of the United States, so this isn't a terrible strategy to try to win Big Brothe... more Comments

Why Winning Part 2 of the Final HoH Is Great on 'Big Brother 19'

The last three HGs on Big Brother 19 are battling it out for the Final HoH, a three-part competition that will result in a live part 3 on finale night. This format has been the same since season 2, which gives us 17 seasons of information. I've already looked at the history of winning part 1, but now it's time to look at part 2. Paul won part 1 of the Final HoH. Josh won part 2 of the Final HoH. Winning the Game Josh is in a great positio... more Comments
