"Awkward" takes an irreverent look at the conflict, chaos and humor that defines teenage life through the eyes of 15-year-old Jenna Hamilton (Ashley Rickards) whose life begins to change when a simple accident becomes an epic misunderstanding and is blown way out of proportion. Narrated in the first-person voice of Jenna's blog posts, "Awkward." captures the humor within the s more
...truggles and experiences everyone can relate to from their formative years. The series picks up in the aftermath of the accident as she must deal with a new not-so-fun stigma, while at the same time managing the other daily drama that comes with being a teenager. From a secret relationship with a popular guy, to being undermined by a mean girl, and parents who just don't get it-Jenna's misfortune will eventually serve as the catalyst for amazing change, but it's not without some missteps and mishaps along the way.

Home Again, Home Again

Jenna and Matty have got to be the most unappealing couple on television.  Yes, Awkward Season 5 Episode 22 got us one step closer to the finish line, but it also continued to lay the groundwork for a reunion between the couple who have been at the core of the show since the beginning.  The thing is, I really don't give a damn about them as a couple. I'd love to hear about what y'all think because I'm just not feeling Jatty any more.  I'm over the back and... more

Living in Sin

Will Luke forgive Jenna? On Awkward Season 5 Episode 21, everything was great for them, but then Jenna had to go and blab about their whole relationship in the form of a new article for Idea Bin.  It's obvious that Jenna wanted to let Luke know just how much he meant to her, but in the process she may have ruined his chances at Idea Bin.  It's almost like she's trying to tell herself she's moved on from Matty, so she tried to make herself believe it more by ... more

Misadventures in Babysitting

Jenna isn't the best with kids.  That much we learnt on Awkward Season 5 Episode 20 as she was tasked with looking after Morgan, but she didn't know how to pull it off.  That's where Matty comes into it.  He's totally great with kids and the writers used this as a ploy to try and get us excited again for Jatty, but it didn't quite work out like that.  The two of them will never work together. They obviously don't love one another as much as we... more

I love this show, considering it's a bit exaggerated for entertainment, it's still true to what it's like to be a high school student. I think anyone can relate, no matter what their age (I'm 30 years old and I can). Some things people obviously wouldn't relate to, others would have an even more extreme life experience from their time in high school. The best thing is, they took each season (for the most part) and made it equal to a year in school. I love that they did this, it means the show might not last as long, but it makes more sense for the viewers, and it also keeps the show real because they don't have 30 year old actors playing sophomores in high school. I get that a lot of actors can and do look that young, but if you know their age in real life it makes it seem far fetched. Overall 9/10. I can't wait for the new season!
