'American Gods': Neil Gaiman Promises that, Despite Changes, Season 2 Feels Like Season 1

“American Gods” Season 2 is coming soon to Starz, and while rumors of chaos behind the scenes have made news over the past year, executive producer Neil Gaiman says that the returning show “still looks and feels like ‘American Gods.'” Bryan Fuller and Michael Green, the original showrunners of the Starz drama based on Gaiman’s book, left the series after completing Season 1 and writing scripts for a second season; they were succeeded by “Heroes” ... more Comments

American Gods Season 2 Trailer: For Old Gods and New, It's 'Time to Ride'

[YouTube=-lnHyVg74aQ] We’re not entirely sure it’s Shadow who’s receiving multiple, dire warnings in the newly released American Gods Season 2 trailer, but if so, we suggest he heeds them — and quickly. Because when Laura says “He is dangerous. I need you to believe that” and Mad Sweeney cautions “There’s always a cost with him. You just haven’t paid it yet,” who else could they be talking about other than the (literally) bigger than life Mr. Wednesday? Indeed... more Comments

Why Laura Moon from 'American Gods' Might be the Best Female Character on TV

In a series with literal gods and creatures of myth, a dead zombie wife has stood out. Laura Moon's death is really the event that kicked off American Gods but since her magical resurrection Shadow's wife has only grown in complexity. Mean and self-serving but charismatic and intelligent, Laura is a wonderful enigma. She is far from the most likable character on TV, female or otherwise, but Laura Moon might just the best character on TV currently. Dead Wife... more Comments

Are the Old Gods on 'American Gods' Too Hard to Root For?

There is a war coming on American Gods. The Old Gods and the New Gods are getting ready to fight and Shadow is caught in the middle. This central premise behind American Gods is a strong one but the conflict itself is a little murky. There are no clear "good guys" or "bad guys" in American Gods. The Old Gods seem just as selfish and superficial as the N... more Comments
