[WATCH] 'NCIS: Los Angeles' Sneak Peek: Sam, Callen and Nell Search for Pieces of a Failed Rocket Launch

Nell's going into the field with Sam and Callen in NCIS: Los Angeles season 9 episode 20 to look for pieces of a failed rocket launch, including a top-secret government device, in the Angeles Forest. Also in "Reentry," Hetty tries to help Harris Keane acclimate to life in the U.S.

Watch the promo for "Reentry":

See the team get information they probably shouldn't have in this clip:

The NRO Chief of Staff, Melissa, shows Callen, Sam and Nell where they can set up before going into the field. They've recovered a number of pieces of the rocket, but they still haven't located the payload, she shares, revealing that satellites' transponders don't activate until they reach space and this one fell a bit short. So, it is a satellite, Nell clarifies.

Melissa wasn't supposed to share that, as the Mission Director, Colonel Lawrence Lawson, confirms. He needs them geared up and in the field immediately, and he's not willing to share anything. They're there to help him, so all they need to do is follow his orders.

Watch this sneak peek to see what Sam and Callen discover while looking for the payload:

After a bit of disagreement regarding whether they're lucky to live in Los Angeles -- Sam says yes, Callen says no -- Nell informs them from the command post that they're approaching the missing search party's last known coordinates.

At first, there's no sign of anyone, but then Sam sees something, and the two agents find the entire search party, dead. They're not the only ones looking for the payload, and whatever the satellite does, someone is willing to kill for it.

NCIS: Los Angeles season 9 airs Sundays at 9/8c on CBS.
