Big things come in small packages. That's basically what the new season of So You Think You Can Dance is all about according to host Cat Deeley. As reported previously, season 13 will be a competition between kid dancers from 8-13 years old. The best young contestants will move on to the Academy where the top 10 child dancers will be chosen and paired with the SYTYCD All-Stars.

Though SYTYCD: The Next Generation will feature a different slate of contestants, season 13 isn't a complete departure from previous seasons. The competition will  feature a roster of fan-favorite choreographers, including Travis Wall, Warren Carlyle, and Tabitha and Napoleon D'umo

"These kids literally could step on the stage and be professionals right now" Napoleon says in the preview. "That's how good they are."

Maddie Ziegler of Dance Moms fame will be joining the judging panel of So You Think You Can Dance: The Next Generation, along with returning judges Nigel Lythgoe, Paula Abdul and Jason Derulo. The 13-year-old award-winning dancer will be giving her critique to young dancers as they compete for the title of America's Favorite Dancer.

"I'm hoping to bring something new so the kids can feel like they have someone who are their age that they can go to for help and I think it will be cool," Ziegler says.

So You Think You Can Dance: The Next Generation premieres Monday, May 30 on FOX.
