The CW's 2015-2016 Schedule: 'Originals' Joins 'TVD,' 'Reign' Banished to Fridays

The Upfronts are finally over with the CW becoming the last network to reveal its line-up for the 2015-2016 TV season. With nine returning hour-long scripted shows (Hart of Dixie and The Messengers were the only programs the CW cancelled this past year), there's very little room on the schedule for new content.

So it's no surprise that the CW only has one new show in the fall and only three new programs total, one of which is a spin-off of the network's two most popular shows.

Mondays will now be all dramedy with the new show Crazy EX-Girlfriend, about a woman who suddenly abandons her successful Manhattan life to move to California searching for love, joins Jane the Virgin.

Tuesdays and Wednesdays remain the same with The Flash, iZombie, Arrow and Supernatural. iZombie is making the move from mid-season to the fall, joining many other shows this year like FOX's Empire and The Last Man on Earth, NBC's Undateable, ABC's Fresh Off the Boat and CSI: Cyber on CBS.

Thursdays are now all-vampires with The Vampire Diaries at 8pm followed by its spin-off, The Originals, at 9pm. And that pushes Reign to Friday nights where it will join America's Next Top Model.

Not on the schedule are The 100 and Beauty and the Beast. which are being pushed back until 2016. The 100 will return mid-season for a third season of 13-16 episodes while Beauty and the Beast will likely return in the summer again.

The CW also has two new shows not on the schedule. First is Containment (formerly titled Cordon) from Vampire Diaries executive producer Julie Plec. It's about a virus that gets loose in Atlanta, forcing the city to be quarantined and making life difficult for those trapped inside.

The other new drama is the Arrow and Flash spin-off Legends of Tomorrow. The time-traveling superhero mash-up will star Arrow's Caity Lotz and Brandon Routh plus The Flash's Victor Garber, Wentworth Miller and Dominic Purcell. And if you're wondering how Lotz, who played the deceased Sara Lance, is coming back, now we know that she's not returning as the Black Canary. Instead, she'll be playing the White Canary.

Both new dramas are expected to premiere in January or February 2016.

Here's a quick look at the CW's new schedule for Fall 2015.
