Team revealed for HBO's 'Hard Knocks'

Every year, one of the National Football League's teams appears on an HBO series called 'Hard Knocks: Training Camp.' The series follows the team as they prepare for the upcoming season and allows fans an up-close, behind-the-scenes look at a team.

Reports have leaked that the team that will be appearing this season is the rising Cincinnati Bengals, who have reached the playoffs the last two seasons. The Bengals have one of the game's best defenses, as well as a fantastic franchise player in wide receiver A.J. Green.

The news was broken by Philadelphia Daily News writer Paul Domowitch, who tweeted it and then removed the Tweet later. Cincinnati Enquirer writer Joe Reedy confirmed the news over the weekend.

Four years ago, the Bengals appeared on 'Hard Knocks,' and then unexpectedly rose from the doldrums to win the AFC North. However, their rise was short lived, as they tumbled back down the standings the following season.

Interest in the series is reportedly dwindling amongst NFL teams, however. Rumors say that the Bengals were one of only two teams that wanted to be considered for this season's show.

Coaches and front office personnel have said the show is a distraction in the past, but Bengals head coach Marvin Lewis must not mind. This will be his third appearance, as he also was on the show is 2001 when he was the Baltimore Ravens defensive coordinator.

“I think it’s a great thing for your fans and I think they get a great perspective behind the scenes, they really get a look at your football team,” Lewis said last year when asked about appearing on the show again. “And if we were doing this (an interview) right now we’d be sitting there and the camera would be on us right now as I’m making this call so it’s really a 24-7 deal. No matter what you do there’s a camera there.”

What team would you most like to see appear on the series?
