'Game of Thrones' Promotes Nathalie Emmanuel to Series Regular for Season 5

Though the battle for the Iron Throne wages on, at least one 'Game of Thrones' character has a reason to celebrate. Deadline reports that Nathalie Emmanuel – who was introduced last season as Daenerys Targaryen’s (Emilia Clarke)gifted translator and trusted advisor, Missandei – will be upgraded to a series regular for the show's fifth season.

Of course, this is assuming the HBO hit will earn itself a Season 5 pick-up, but given the fantasy drama's track record in both ratings and popularity, the odds definitely seem in its favor. Besides, the characters still have so much left to accomplish! (And Joffrey hasn't been slapped nearly enough.)

Emmanuelappeared in eight of the 10 episodes of Season 3 and will continue to recur in the series' highly anticipated fourth installment. Shehas also landed a role in the upcoming film 'Fast & Furious 7,' proving that her popularity only continues to grow.

The actress's 'Thrones' promotion follows a similar promotion for another actor playing a character from Khaleesi’s inner circle. Michiel Huisman, who recently took over the role of the charming warrior Daario Naharis, will likewise be elevated to a series regular in the highly probable fifth season.

Going into this season, 'Game of Thrones' currentlyhas a total of 29 series regular members – a further testament to how complex and ambitious this series truly is. Let's just hope all of our favorites get the proper amount of screen time they deserve.

'Game of Thrones' Season 4 premieres Sunday, April 6 at 9/8c on HBO.
