CBS Renews 'SEAL Team' and 'S.W.A.T.' for Second Seasons

Two of the new dramas for CBS will be sticking around. The network has officially renewed hit shows SEAL Team and S.W.A.T. both for second seasons, becoming the first drama renewals for the 2018-2019 TV season on CBS.

Both shows have done well for the network and fit in nicely to the procedural landscape of CBS. They join fellow freshman show Young Sheldon in getting renewed for second seasons.

SEAL Team continues the long-running success of star David Boreanaz, who has been a series regular on television every year since 1997. He started on Buffy the Vampire Slayer and Angel, the latter ending in 2004. He then took the 2004-2005 TV season off, but returned in Fall 2005 for his run on FOX's Bones. He then jumped right into SEAL Team.

Meanwhile, Shemar Moore, who spent 11 seasons on Criminal Minds, continues to find success on CBS with the renewal of S.W.A.T.

With these renewals, and most of the CBS line-up likely to be picked up, there is very little room for the network when it comes to new shows.

Which CBS renewal are you most excited about?

SEAL Team airs Wednesdays at 9/8c and S.W.A.T. airs Thursdays at 10/9c on CBS.
