ABC Renews 'Scandal,' 'HTGAWM,' 'SHIELD' and More

ABC is very, very busy this Thursday. The network has already renewed Once Upon a Time, Quantico, Fresh Off the Boat and The Goldbergs for the 2016-2017 TV season, and now there are 11 other shows coming back including all of Shonda Rhimes' Thursday night line-up. This brings ABC's grand total of returning shows next season to 15.

The ShondaLand TGIT trio of Grey's Anatomy, Scandal and How to Get Away with Murder were all renewed, as was Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. On the comedy side, Modern Family, black-ish and The Middle have all been picked up for next season. And as for reality, The Bachelor, Dancing with the Stars, Shark Tank and America's Funniest Home Videos will all return next year.

Perhaps the biggest milestone from these renewals is that Scandal will reach its 100th episode in season 6, most likely the mid-season finale or premiere. Grey's Anatomy will be heading into season 13, Modern Family and The Middle will both head into season 8, Agents of SHIELD will be in season 4, b lack-ish and How to Get Away with Murder are each getting third seasons.

All of these renewals leave a small number of ABC shows left in limbo. For dramas, Castle, Nashville, Agent Carter and American Crime are up in the air, as are mid-season dramas that have yet to premiere like The Family, The Catch, Of Kings and Prophets and Secrets and Lies. For comedies, that only leaves Last Man Standing, Dr. Ken, The Muppets, Galavant and the new The Real O'Neals.
