Season 4 Premiere How Did the Speed Force Prison Affect Barry?

It's been six months since Barry went into the speed force, and The Flash season 4 premiere sees the team doing the best they can in his absence. Unfortunately, their best isn't the best (which is what the latest threat to the city wants to face) and they need Barry back. But can they make that happen without the speed force prison becoming unstable and destroying the city?"The Flash Reborn" also catches up with Caitlin, who's putting those two doctorates and PhD to good use ... working at a bar... more

The Flash Reborn

Barry Allen is officially reborn and recharged in the new season of The Flash. There has been a lot of talk about how The Flash Season 4 Episode 1 would be like a soft reset for the show. It didn't feel completely like a reboot, but I enjoyed that it was a brand new chapter. I don't know how I would have felt if Barry had been gone for more than one episode. Will Harry's Thinking Cap Turn Him into a Villain on 'The Flash'?

In the episode, "Run, Iris, Run" The Flash managed to hit two metaphorical birds with one stone by giving Harry a reason to be relevant (something that's been missing for seasons) and finding a possible way to defeat The Thinker. One might assume that this is because Barry is the titular hero of the show, an identity that brings with it many opportunities for errors. Alternatively, it could just be that Barry is a screw-up. The "Run, Iris, Run" episode gives us ample opportunity to test this hypothesis: With Iris as a speedster, does she screw up the most? Or does another character make more mistakes? Iris more

'The Flash' Adds 2 Familiar Metas: Meet Janet Petty and Edwin Gauss

The search for the final two bus metas is on, and Team Flash finally has a leg up on Clifford DeVoe. In fact, they now have a Thinker of their own. Harry (Tom Cavanagh) slipped on his version of the Thinking Cap in "Run, Iris, Run," immediately prompting viewers -- and Cisco (Carlos Valdes) -- to wonder if a villainous twist is in store for the Earth-2 native. While we worry, however, Wells' experimentation with gray matter steroids has gifted the STAR Labs crew with the names of the remaining bus metas -- Janet Petty and Edwin Gauss. Of the... more
