Can Kara Save Mon-El and Lena from Rhea?

Daxam invading Earth does have echoes of Non's takeover attempt in season 1 of Supergirl. This episode, titled "Resist," quickly establishes that things are much more serious. In a terrifyingly effective opening sequence, Daxam takes to Earth with guns blazing, murdering everyone in sight. They quickly ransack DEO headquarters, and everyone is forced to retreat to the alien bar for cover. Supergirl has never had higher stakes for a conflict, and it quickly turns "Resist" into one of the better hours o... more

Can we just go ahead and elect Cat Grant for President? Lynda Carter has been a fun guest star, but she hasn't been given the best material in her minimal amount of screen time.  If we're only going to get to see Cat on a limited basis anyway, why not just make her the leader of the free world?  I probably could have quoted everything that came out of Cat's mouth on Supergirl Season 2 Episode 21, but then I would have been up all night. How 'Supergirl' Succeeds in Making Superman a Supporting Character

Supergirl's transition to The CW for its sophomore season has hit a few speed bumps along the way, but it swiftly not only found its footing, but finished off by hitting a full stride. Superman has made a couple of cameos throughout the series, sparking buzz around whether or not the Man of Steel would be too dominant of a presence, overshadowing his cousin, the title character of the show. In the season 2 finale, "Nevertheless, She Persisted," Supergirl shows us just how strongly the... more

Where Was Mon-El Headed in the 'Supergirl' Season 2 Finale?

No hero had to make the ultimate sacrifice in Supergirl's season 2 finale but that doesn't mean that there wasn't loss. Kara's victory over Rhea was bittersweet because Kara had to send Mon-El away. The lead poisoning that Kara used to end the Daxamite invasion also made it impossible for Mon-El to live on Earth. While this would seem to put an end to Kara and Mon-El's romance, the season finale left the door open for Mon-El to return. Mon-El was sucked into yet another portal ... more

Lena Luthor Is the MVP of 'Supergirl' Season 2

Supergirl season 2 was rocky. It started off strong, fell flat for the rest of the season, and then the last two episodes were two of the best hours the series has had thus far. Cat Grant's departure and return definitely made the last two episodes what they were, but Lena's involvement in the entire season kept it worth watching. Her Involvement in the Story Lena definitely started out as just the daughter of Lillian Luthor. She wasn't developed, and her backstory was kind of bland. She's a L... more
