Does Mon-El's Identity End His Relationship with Kara?

It took way too long, but Supergirl has finally revealed Mon-El's big secret. Mon-El is not just some guy from Daxam; he's the prince of the entire planet. 'Supergirl' Casts Iconic Superman Villain for the End of Season 2

As Supergirl reaches its conclusion for season 2 there is not much clarity on where the story is headed. There are several potential storylines brewing but nothing has a clear focus.
