The CW Gives a Full Season Order to 'Dynasty'

The CW's reboot of Dynasty isn't going anywhere. Despite weak ratings, the network has given a full season order to the freshman drama, giving it a total of 22 episodes for season 1. The order is a sign of confidence from the network.

Dynasty premiered with 1.26 million viewers, but has fallen to around 750,000 in subsequent episodes. That makes it one of the CW's least-watched shows, only beating the Friday night duo of Crazy Ex-Girlfriend and Jane the Virgin.

Getting a full season pick-up has become a rarity for the CW's new Fall shows in recent years. Last year both Frequency and No Tomorrow were both cancelled after 13 episodes. In 2015, Crazy Ex-Girlfriend was picked up for additional five episodes, bringing its first year total to 18. The last time the CW gave a full, 22-episode season to a new Fall show was in 2014, with both Jane the Virgin and The Flash.

Dynasty airs Wednesdays at 9/8c on the CW.
