Netflix Casts 'Mad Men' Star Kiernan Shipka as Sabrina the Teenage Witch

A former Mad Men star is about to become a very witchy young woman on Netflix. The streaming service has cast Kiernan Shipka, best known as Don Draper's moody daughter Sally on the Emmy-winning AMC drama, in the lead role of its new series based on Sabrina the Teenage Witch.

The series, which has already received an order for two 10-episode seasons, centers on Sabrina, a young woman who struggles to balance her dual lives as a witch and a normal sophomore in high school. Unlike the Melissa Joan Hart series, Netflix's Sabrina will be a much darker drama, dealing with the occult.

The new Sabrina show was originally developed at CW as a spin-off of Riverdale (the Teenage Witch was first introduced as a character in Archie comics). But instead it moved to Netflix, though it is still being written by the creator of the CW's Riverdale, Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa.

Shipka is best known as Sally on Mad Men, though more recently she played Bette Davis' daughter B.D. on FX's Feud: Bette and Joan.
